Police Headquarters has instructed field-level police officers to ensure fair investigations of all cases and take effective steps to bring criminals to justice. The directive was issued at the monthly crime review meeting for June 2026, held virtually on Wednesday. Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime and Operations) Khandkar Rafiqul Islam chaired the meeting, which was attended by officers from various police units.
Khandkar Rafiqul Islam urged all concerned to remain vigilant to prevent any rise in crime. He directed police officers to investigate cases involving murder, rape, robbery, and abduction thoroughly and complete the investigations promptly. The meeting reviewed the overall crime situation, including major incidents reported in June, and examined cases of robbery, dacoity, murder, rape, and abduction, along with pending arrest warrants, investigation and trial progress, conviction rates, and related issues.
