Leadership Training for Jail Superintendents Enhances Prison-Police Coordination in Rajshahi

A special training session on coordination between the prison and police departments was held at the Prison Training Center in Rajshahi.

A specialized training session for jail superintendents was conducted at the Prison Training Center in Rajshahi on Wednesday. The session, part of a 'Leadership Development Training' workshop, focused on enhancing coordination between the prison and police departments.

Key Focus Areas

Titled "Challenges Arising in the Integrated Performance of Duties by the Prison and Police Departments: Measures for Security, Court Attendance/Escort, Intelligence Information and Crisis Management," the session addressed several critical areas. These included strategies for inmate security, court attendance and escort operations, effective use of intelligence information, and coordinated responses to crisis situations.

Expert Insights and Participant Pledges

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Foyezul Kabir led the session as the resource person. He emphasized the importance of timely information sharing, mutual cooperation, and stronger joint efforts to maintain law and order, improve security management, manage risks, and enhance professional skills. At the end of the session, participants pledged to strengthen integrated operations through practical experience-sharing, professional development, and closer cooperation between the two departments.

Jail superintendents from 20 district jails across Bangladesh attended the training, including those from Cox's Bazar, Feni, Chandpur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, Kishoreganj, Tangail, Manikganj, Pabna, Sirajganj, Bogura, Joypurhat, Nilphamari, Thakurgaon, Netrokona, Magura, Bagerhat, Kushtia, Moulvibazar, and Patuakhali.
