More than 200 farmers in Kaptai received free transplanted Aman paddy seeds today, aiding their recovery from recent floods. The seeds were distributed by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) at the Kaptai Agriculture Office premises. The event was inaugurated by Kaptai Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Raihanul Islam, with Upazila Agriculture Officer Ahsan Habib presiding over the distribution.
Support for Affected Farmers
The seed distribution initiative is part of the free high-yielding transplanted Aman seed assistance program, specifically targeting farmers whose Aman rice fields were damaged by recent floods. This initiative aims to support the affected farmers and help them resume Aman cultivation.
Program Details
The program was organized by the DAE at 10:30 am today. It is being implemented under the 2026-27 fiscal year program to provide much-needed assistance to the farmers who were severely impacted by the floods.
