Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political and Industrial Affairs Advisor, today cautioned authorities against hunger in flood-hit areas, urging adequate steps for staples delivery to deluge victims. During an assessment tour in Banshkhali Upazila’s flood-affected areas, he distributed relief among people in distress and stressed the importance of ensuring no one suffers from hunger. Rizvi noted significant livestock loss and other resource damages due to flooding and landslides. He highlighted that the government is actively monitoring the situation around the clock and has taken measures to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a virtual meeting with field-level officials to assess the situation and issue necessary directives. Rizvi expressed optimism about technological and scientific developments easing people’s miseries, despite attributing some disaster impacts to ill-planned constructions by the previous government.
