Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Administrator Advocate Mahfuz Un Nabi Don has announced that the city is undergoing significant efforts to become an environment-friendly, modern, clean, and well-managed urban center. Speaking at the inauguration of road renovation work, Don emphasized the importance of quality infrastructure and timely project completion.

Commitment to Quality and Timeliness

Don highlighted the adoption of a zero-tolerance policy for ensuring the quality of all infrastructural development works. He stressed that strict monitoring will be implemented to guarantee that projects are completed within the stipulated time and with 100 percent quality. This commitment comes as part of broader efforts to enhance the city's infrastructure and civic amenities.

Renovation of Key Road

The Administrator inaugurated the renovation of a critical road stretching from Jahaz Company Intersection to Mahiganj Satmatha Intersection. This nearly four-kilometer-long road has been in a dilapidated condition, causing significant inconvenience to citizens. The renovation, estimated to cost over Taka 20.67 crore, is part of the Local Government Covid 19 Response and Recovery Project.

The project includes carpeting, Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) road, RCC drain, sidewalk tiles, road dividers, road separators, light poles, and the installation of smart LED street lights. Don believes that equipping this road with modern drainage systems and LED lights will alleviate the long-standing sufferings of the local population.

City residents have expressed satisfaction with the initiation of the renovation work. College student Mohaimenul Islam anticipates reduced traffic congestion and smoother travel once the road is renovated. Other residents, including Rafiul Islam, Abul Hossain, and Tofazzal Hossain, urged the RpCC authorities to ensure the contractor maintains quality and delivers the project on time.
