RAB-5 in Rajshahi has launched a unique initiative to raise public awareness and encourage community participation in preventing drug abuse, cybercrime, juvenile gangs, border smuggling and other social crimes. As part of the initiative, a meeting was held with senior officials from various government offices, teachers, journalists, law enforcement members and distinguished citizens at the Rajshahi College auditorium. RAB-5 Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Khandaker Mahmudur Rahman chaired the meeting, while Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid attended as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir, Rajshahi District Police Superintendent Mohammad Naimul Hasan, Rajshahi College Principal Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Ali, RAB-5 Major Manjurul Kabir Pial, and officials from various government departments.

During the meeting, RAB-5 presented an awareness session on drug abuse, cybercrime, teen gangs, reasons behind youth involvement in crime and its prevention, border smuggling, educational institution security, violence against women and children, social crimes, and traffic and road safety. They also highlighted RAB-5’s recent successful anti-drug operations, arms recoveries, and other achievements in crime prevention. Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid praised RAB’s role in crime prevention, especially in anti-drug operations, and called on people from all walks of life to work in coordination with RAB. Other speakers emphasized that raising awareness and securing public cooperation is the most effective way to control crime.
