The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours commencing 9 am. According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, rain is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.

Moderately Heavy Rainfall Expected

The bulletin also mentioned that moderately heavy to very heavy rainfalls may occur at places over the country. This widespread rainfall could impact daily activities and transportation across the nation.

Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged over the country. The highest temperature recorded on Thursday was 33.4 degrees Celsius in Faridpur, while today's minimum temperature is 23.7 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

Recent Rainfall Data

In the last 24 hours (till 6 am today), the highest rainfall of 221 millimetres was recorded in Chattogram, followed by 179 mm in Satkhira and 163 mm in Gopalganj. These heavy rains indicate an active monsoon season.
