Dr. Mohammad Zakaria, Director General of the NGO Affairs Bureau, visited the Association for Community Development (ACD) in Rajshahi today to review the organization's activities and engage in a views exchange meeting with its management and staff. Accompanied by colleagues from his office, Dr. Zakaria's visit aimed to assess ACD's contributions to various development initiatives and discuss future priorities.
Meeting Highlights ACD's Achievements and Challenges
The meeting, chaired by Salima Sarwar, Executive Director of ACD, featured a multimedia presentation by Subrata Kumar Paul, Team Leader (Advocacy, Network and Lobby). The presentation outlined ACD's institutional development, ongoing projects, key achievements, operational challenges, and future priorities. It also showcased ACD's contributions to climate change adaptation, good governance and accountability, Right to Information (RTI), women and child protection, agriculture and livelihood development, social inclusion, and other development initiatives supported by national and international partners.
Delegation Praises ACD's Commitment and Stresses Coordination
The NGO Affairs Bureau delegation expressed appreciation for ACD's achievements and acknowledged the organization's commitment to transparent and accountable project implementation. They emphasized the importance of effective organizational management, stronger coordination with government institutions, and the vital role of non-governmental organizations in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Review of Administrative and Financial Records
Following the discussion, the delegation reviewed administrative and financial records and visited different sections of the organization to observe ACD's institutional systems and overall operations. The event was attended by officials from ACD's Finance and Human Resources departments, as well as representatives from various projects.
