Bangladesh spinner Nasum Ahmed has climbed 27 places to 11th in the ICC T20 International bowling rankings following his consistent performances against Australia. Despite the team's 3-0 whitewash in the T20I series, several players were rewarded individually in the updated rankings.
Nasum's Impressive Leap
Nasum, a left-arm spinner, climbed 27 places to reach 11th in the T20I bowlers' rankings. This is equal to the second-best position of his career, as stated in the ICC press release. His impressive performance throughout the three-match series contributed to this significant gain.
Batters Hridoy and Saif Rise
Towhid Hridoy, who led Bangladesh during the series, rose nine places to 30th in the T20I batting rankings after scoring 105 runs across three matches. Saif Hasan also enjoyed a strong rise, moving up 13 spots to joint 35th.
Australia's Gains
Australia's players benefited from the clean sweep. Captain Mitchell Marsh advanced four places to ninth in the T20I batting rankings, while fast bowler Nathan Ellis moved up three spots to seventh among bowlers.
New Zealand's Milestone
Meanwhile, New Zealand pacer Matt Henry achieved a historic milestone in the ICC Test bowling rankings. The 34-year-old climbed to the top of the rankings alongside India's Jasprit Bumrah on 870 rating points, following his 11 wickets in the Oval Test. Henry became the first New Zealand bowler to reach No. 1 in the Test bowling rankings since Sir Richard Hadlee in 1990.
