Rajshahi district is set to conduct a national Vitamin A Plus campaign on June 28, aiming to enhance children's immunity and prevent malnutrition-related blindness.

Rajshahi district is preparing to administer Vitamin A capsules to 303,117 children as part of the national Vitamin A Plus campaign on June 28. The campaign, aimed at boosting children's immunity and preventing malnutrition-related blindness, will target children aged 6 months to 59 months.

Campaign Details

Dr. Rajiur Rahman, the Rajshahi District Civil Surgeon, announced the details at a press conference held at the Rajshahi District Civil Surgeon's Office. According to Dr. Rahman, 33,648 children aged 6 to 11 months will receive one blue Vitamin A capsule each, while 269,469 children aged 12 to 59 months will receive one red Vitamin A capsule each.

Logistics and Volunteers

To ensure the smooth execution of the campaign, 1,788 centers have been prepared across the district, including 10 permanent and 1,778 temporary centers. A total of 3,576 volunteers will be involved in the campaign to assist with the distribution of the capsules.

Call to Action

The Rajshahi Health Department has made a special appeal to parents and guardians to bring their children to the nearest center on the designated day to receive the Vitamin A capsules. This initiative is a crucial step in promoting child health and preventing nutritional deficiencies in the region.
