Health officials in Bangladesh have recorded 512 new cases of dengue and three fatalities within the past 24 hours. The recent surge in cases highlights the ongoing challenge posed by the mosquito-borne disease. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has provided a detailed breakdown of the cases across various divisions and city corporations.

Case Distribution

According to the DGHS statement, 75 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 75 in Chattogram division, 40 in Dhaka division, 76 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 85 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). Additionally, 84 cases were reported in Khulna division, 13 in Mymensingh division, 34 in Rajshahi division, 28 in Rangpur division, and one in Sylhet division.

Cumulative Impact

Since the beginning of the year, Bangladesh has witnessed 47 deaths and 14,156 cases of dengue. Comparatively, the dengue outbreak claimed 413 lives and affected 1,02,861 people in 2025, and 575 deaths with 1,01,214 cases in 2024. The consistent rise in cases and fatalities underscores the need for enhanced public health measures and community awareness.

Efforts to control the spread of dengue include vector control programs, public education campaigns, and improved healthcare infrastructure. The government and health organizations are working diligently to mitigate the impact of this ongoing public health crisis.
