Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan has clarified that there has been no discussion on cancelling honours in six subjects including Bangla.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milan has stated that there has been no discussion on cancelling honours in six subjects including Bangla, history, and philosophy. Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the minister emphasized, ‘To my knowledge, no such discussion has taken place. How can we exclude Bangla, our mother tongue? There has been no such discussion, as far as I am aware.’

The minister highlighted the importance of technical education but clarified, ‘We have not heard or conducted any discussion about excluding Bangla, philosophy, or history.’

Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Jahidur Rahman also dismissed the news, stating that he does not believe honours in these subjects will be cancelled. National University has also issued a statement denying any decision to close honours courses.
