The Khulna district administration has planned a series of events to observe the 165th birth anniversary of eminent scientist Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy in Paikgachha. The programs include floral tributes, a discussion meeting, student competitions, a documentary screening, and the release of a commemorative publication.
Floral Tributes and Discussion Meeting
Floral tributes will be paid at 10am on August 2 at the bust of Acharya Roy at his ancestral home in Raruli under Paikgachha upazila, followed by a discussion meeting.
Student Competitions
Quiz, essay writing, and extempore speech competitions will be held at Bhuban Mohini Secondary School in Raruli, with participation from students of various schools and colleges in the upazila.
Documentary Screening
A documentary on the life, works, scientific achievements, and social contributions of Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy will be screened at the premises of his ancestral home.
Commemorative Publication
A commemorative publication highlighting the life and achievements of Acharya Roy will be released as part of the celebrations.
