Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury today said relief and rehabilitation efforts are already underway and the government's support will continue until full rehabilitation is completed. He noted that around seven lakh people have been affected by the floods in Chattogram, with more than one lakh people already receiving relief assistance. The minister made these remarks while distributing relief among flood victims in the Patenga area this morning.

Khasru mentioned that rice, cooked meals, and dry food are being distributed among the flood-affected people. He also highlighted that many roads have been damaged by the floods and instructed the authorities concerned to expedite repair work, which is already underway.

After distributing relief in Patenga, the finance minister proceeded to Chandanaish upazila. Later in the day, he is scheduled to distribute relief among flood victims in different parts of Chattogram, including Satkania, Lohagara, and Banshkhali upazilas.

The ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts are crucial for the affected population, ensuring they receive necessary support during this challenging time. The government's commitment to continuing aid until full rehabilitation is a significant step towards recovery for the flood victims in Chattogram.
