Dhaka Police Detain 401 Suspects in 24-Hour Anti-Crime Operation

Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 401 crime suspects and filed 50 criminal cases in a 24-hour operation across Dhaka City.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 401 crime suspects in a series of operations carried out across Dhaka City over the past 24 hours. According to a press release, 50 criminal cases were filed during the same period. Legal proceedings against the arrested persons are underway, DMP said.

Division-wise Arrests

The Ramna division police arrested 44 suspects, while 26 were arrested by Lalbagh Division, 42 by Wari Division, 41 by Motijheel Division, 31 by Tejgaon Division, 119 by Mirpur Division, 47 by Gulshan Division, 38 by Uttara Division and 13 by the Intelligence Division.

Seized Items and Rescue

During the drive, police seized 25,109 pieces of yaba, 20.95 kg of marijuana, one battery-powered auto-rickshaw, 83 mobile phones, one banner with an Awami League slogan, five playing cards, two microbuses, 6,600 SIM cards and one laptop. Police also rescued a victim from their custody.
