The United States and Iran have intensified their military confrontation, with both sides launching strikes against each other. The conflict centers around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime route. American forces have boarded a ship in the Gulf of Oman as part of a renewed blockade of Iranian ports. Iran has retaliated by targeting US allies in the Gulf and conducting strikes in various locations within Iran.

US Military Actions

US Central Command reported that American forces have redirected three vessels attempting to bypass the blockade since it was reinstated amid the renewed hostilities. The US military also confirmed strikes on Iran for the sixth consecutive night, aimed at degrading Iranian military capabilities.

Iranian Retaliation

Iranian state media reported multiple explosions in Bushehr, near Iran's only civilian nuclear plant, and around Ahvaz. Further strikes were reported on an airport, a railway station in Bandar Abbas, and two bridges near the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran accused the US of a 'barbaric attack' after a cancer hospital was forced to evacuate due to nearby strikes.

Despite the escalating conflict, the White House maintains that US President Donald Trump remains open to diplomacy with Iran. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Washington is still in talks with Tehran, even as hostilities continue.

Yemen's Houthis warned they would target Saudi Arabia's oil facilities and other infrastructure if the conflict escalates further. Syria also reported thwarting an attempt to smuggle weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon through its border with Iraq.
