The United States and Iran have exchanged strikes, reigniting tensions in the Middle East. US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced new strikes on Iran to degrade its military capabilities, marking the sixth consecutive night of American attacks. In response, Iran targeted a US airbase in Jordan and infrastructure near the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil and gas transit route.

Iranian state media reported US strikes near a children's cancer hospital in Ahvaz, leading to its evacuation. Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for attacks on the US airbase, stating they were in retaliation for American aggression. The US has reimposed a blockade on Iran's ports, redirecting vessels to ensure compliance.

Despite a preliminary deal signed last month aimed at ending the conflict, hostilities have escalated. Iran has warned that all regional infrastructure will be targeted if the US follows through on threats to attack power plants and bridges. Since the renewed attacks, at least 30 people have been killed in Iran, according to government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that President Trump remains open to diplomacy but will hold Iran accountable for its actions. Pakistan, which mediated the preliminary deal, continues to encourage both sides to end violence and resume talks. The situation remains volatile, with both nations showing no signs of de-escalation.
