A surge in attacks from both Ukraine and Russia has resulted in at least 14 deaths, as the conflict intensifies.

At least 14 people have been killed in a recent escalation of attacks between Ukraine and Russia, according to officials from both countries. Nine people were killed in Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory, while five were killed in Russian attacks on Ukraine. This surge in violence comes amid an increase in the scale and intensity of attacks from both sides, nearly four years into the ongoing conflict.

The Ukrainian attacks targeted several regions in Russia, including the Belgorod region near the border, where a 13-year-old girl was among the fatalities. Three more people were killed in separate attacks in the Saratov and Udmurtia regions. In Ukraine, Russian strikes resulted in deaths in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as the destruction of a postal terminal in the Kharkiv region.
