Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed made his debut in English County cricket with Kent as his side took on Derbyshire in a crucial game at County Ground, Derby. His compatriot Hasan Mahmud, already established as Kent's main strike bowler, set a high bar for Bangladesh bowlers with an impressive performance. Hasan struck twice in the opening over against Derbyshire, dismissing Harry Came and Matthew Montgomery. These two wickets took Hasan's county tally to 21, highlighting his consistent form since his Kent debut in June.

Hasan Mahmud's Impressive Form

Hasan Mahmud has been in exceptional form for Kent. He announced himself in county cricket with nine wickets against Lancashire on debut, earning Player of the Match honors as Kent secured a 140-run victory. He added three wickets in his second match and later took seven wickets across two innings against Worcestershire to help Kent to another victory. His county form followed an impressive Test performance for Bangladesh against Australia in Darwin last month, where he claimed nine wickets in the two innings, including six in the first innings, and was named Player of the Match.

Khaled Ahmed's Maiden Appearance

Khaled Ahmed made an immediate impact on his first appearance for Kent. The Bangladesh international claimed his maiden wicket in his fourth over, trapping Derbyshire opener Muhammad Naeem lbw. He later dismissed Derbyshire captain Wayne Madsen for 29 to take his wickets tally to two as the opponent reached 122-4 in 39 overs. This performance underscores the growing influence of Bangladeshi bowlers in international cricket.

The performances of Khaled Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud not only highlight their individual talents but also reflect the growing strength and depth of Bangladesh's bowling lineup. Their success in English County cricket provides valuable experience and exposure, which can only benefit the national team in future international assignments.

As both bowlers continue to make their mark in county cricket, they are likely to be key players for Bangladesh in upcoming series. Their ability to perform under pressure and deliver crucial wickets will be vital as Bangladesh aims to climb the ICC rankings and compete more effectively on the global stage.
