The UEFA Champions League is back, and all eyes are on Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as they aim to become the first club to win the prestigious tournament three years in a row. PSG successfully defended their title last season by beating Arsenal on penalties in Budapest, following their first-ever win the previous year. Only Real Madrid, Ajax, and Bayern Munich have previously achieved this feat.

PSG's manager, Luis Enrique, has set his sights on winning more important trophies, with the Champions League being the pinnacle. Enrique, who led Barcelona to victory in 2015, understands the significance of this achievement. The Parisians have struggled in the league phase in the past two campaigns, finishing outside the top eight and having to navigate an additional play-off round to reach the last 16.

This season, PSG will face tough opponents including Manchester City, Barcelona, and Aston Villa. The new Champions League format, featuring 36 teams playing eight games against different opponents, adds an extra layer of challenge. Despite these hurdles, PSG remains a strong contender, especially given their recent successes.

Other top European clubs are also in the running. Arsenal, who have reached the latter stages in the past three years, are looking to take the next step. Bayern Munich, under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, and Barcelona are equally determined to reclaim the trophy. The Premier League's financial strength means English clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also expected to perform well.

Newcomers to the competition, such as Como, Viking Stavanger, and Sabah, add an element of unpredictability. These clubs, despite their lower profiles, bring fresh energy and the potential for upsets. The Champions League not only offers glory but also significant financial rewards, with the winners earning around 90 million euros in prize money and additional revenue from television deals.

For Bangladeshi fans, the Champions League represents the pinnacle of club football. While the competition is dominated by Europe's elite, the passion and excitement it generates resonate globally. The prospect of witnessing history being made, whether by PSG or another club, adds to the anticipation and thrill of the tournament.
