In a symbolic and celebratory event, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated a doctors’ rally today, marking the 37th founding anniversary of the Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB). The event, held at the LD Hall of Jatiya Sangshad, underscored the government's recognition of the crucial role of medical professionals in the nation.
Ceremonial Beginnings
The Prime Minister began the ceremony by planting a neem sapling on the premises of Jatiya Sangshad, accompanied by his wife, Dr Zubaida Rahman, who also planted a sapling. This act symbolizes growth and sustainability, reflecting the importance of long-term health and medical advancements in the country.
Following the planting, Tarique Rahman hoisted the national flag accompanied by the national anthem, setting a patriotic tone for the rally. Before the formal proceedings began, two pigeons were released as symbols of peace, a gesture emphasizing the harmony and cooperation necessary in the medical field.
National Leadership in Attendance
Several high-ranking officials attended the event, including LGRD and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Social Welfare Minister Professor Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, and DAB President Professor Dr Harun Al Rashid. Their presence highlighted the government's support and collaboration with the medical community.
The event also saw the participation of the Prime Minister’s spouse, Dr Zubaida Rahman, and DAB Secretary General Dr Md Zahirul Islam Shakil, who further emphasized the event's significance in fostering unity and recognition within the medical community.
