Inkilab Mancha, led by its spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin, organized a torchlight procession demanding the identification of local killers involved in the murder of Osmani Hadi, the swift return of fugitive killers to Bangladesh, and ensuring a speedy trial. The procession also called for a thorough investigation into allegations of Indian involvement in the murder.
The rally began at 7:15 PM on Thursday in front of the National Museum in Shahbag and concluded with a brief assembly at the foot of the Raju sculpture at Dhaka University.
Inkilab Mancha's General Secretary Abdullah Al Jaber criticized the elected government for not taking any steps towards justice three months after coming to power. He urged the government not to forget that their current authority may not last. Jaber also questioned the timeline for India's commitment to return the killers to Bangladesh.
Musaddiq Ali Ibne Mohammad, DUCSU's Cultural Secretary, alleged that the murder was carried out under the supervision and direction of India's Home Minister Amit Shah. He suggested that individuals or agencies involved with the previous government might be connected to the murder.
Following the assembly, Inkilab Mancha called for a protest march on Friday from the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
