Acting Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Kayser Kamal has accepted an invitation to attend the National SDG Localization Campaign as the chief guest. The invitation was extended by a high-level delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), led by UNOPS Bangladesh and Bhutan Country Manager Sudhir Muralidharan. The event is scheduled to take place at the Liberation War Museum in Dhaka on August 8, 2026.

During a courtesy call at the Jatiya Sangsad, the UNOPS delegation formally invited Barrister Kayser Kamal to the campaign. He accepted the invitation with appreciation, expressing gratitude for being invited to the event.

In his remarks, Kayser Kamal highlighted Bangladesh’s progress in women’s development, crediting former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia for laying a strong foundation for women’s education and political empowerment. He also noted that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is continuing this legacy with initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat and members of the UNOPS delegation. The event signifies Bangladesh's commitment to the SDGs and its ongoing efforts to promote equitable governance and strong leadership.
