In a significant operation, the Fisheries Department of Hathazari upazila has seized 6,300 metres of illegal nets and 12 fishing rods from the Halda River. Md Shoukat Ali, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer of Hathazari, confirmed the seizure of 6,300 metres of char-enclosed nets and 12 fishing rods. The confiscated nets have been stored at a temporary naval police camp along the Halda River and will be destroyed at a later date.
