State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin today called for infusing among the children the sense of aesthetics and values to build a better habitat for future Bangladesh. Speaking at a conference on personal development and mental fitness, she said the government intended to build a habitable and safe Bangladesh for future generations but the family and the elementary schooling had a crucial role to achieve the goal.
"We must prepare our children by providing them with primary and foundational education starting from within families," she told the event titled Premium Mind Master Retreat & MCA Convocation.
Wellbeing Bangladesh Foundation staged the event at a hotel in the capital saying it was aimed to raise awareness about holistic well-being, mental fitness and personal development.
The junior minister appreciated the initiative saying if someone thought "I can do it then we truly can accomplish it". She said focusing on particularly children’s mental health was crucial as "disease is contagious, not health".
Sharmin said they might witness or experience bad things but should learn the good things to practice in their lives, discarding the bad ones. "That is why working on mental health is essential," she said. The significance of this initiative lies in its potential to foster a generation that values mental well-being and aesthetics, contributing to a safer and more habitable Bangladesh.
