60 Disaster-Affected Families in Gopalganj Receive Humanitarian Aid

Corrugated iron sheets and cash assistance were distributed among 60 families affected by fire and natural disasters in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district.

In an effort to provide immediate relief to those affected by recent fires and natural disasters, 60 families in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district received corrugated iron sheets and cash assistance. The distribution took place at the Tungipara Upazila Parishad premises at 11:30am on Monday. Gopalganj-3 constituency lawmaker S M Jilani oversaw the distribution of the relief materials.

Distribution Details

UNO Zahirul Alam announced that 35 families affected by fire and natural calamities received cheques for Taka 10,000 each, totaling Taka 3.5 lakh. The remaining 25 families were provided Taka 6,000 each along with two bundles of corrugated iron sheets to help them rebuild their homes.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including Tungipara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Zahirul Alam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Al-Amin Halder, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ayub Ali, Tungipara upazila BNP President Sheikh Salauddin, General Secretary Moniruzzaman Bablu, Poura BNP President Emdad Molla, General Secretary Jihadul Islam Babu, Organising Secretary Gopal Sarkar, Jubo Dal Member Secretary Aminul Islam, and officials from various government departments and political leaders.

This initiative underscores the ongoing efforts to support communities in the wake of disasters, providing essential resources to help families recover and rebuild. The presence of local government and political leaders highlights the collaborative approach to disaster relief in the region.
