Speaking at an event organized by the NCP's youth organization, Jatiya Jubashakti, in Banglamotor, Dhaka, he emphasized the need to ensure that every penny allocated in the upcoming budget is spent for the benefit of the people. Abdullah specifically questioned how the funding for family cards would be sourced, given the estimated annual cost of 1 lakh 20 thousand crore taka.

Abdullah also expressed concerns about the recent appointment of a governor at Bangladesh Bank and the issues at Islamic Bank, stating that these developments are causing anxiety about the direction of the country's economy.
