Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today personally drove through different roads under the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) to inspect the city’s cleanliness as part of his government’s efforts to make Dhaka a cleaner capital. The Prime Minister left his Gulshan residence at 4:05 pm and drove the vehicle himself, passing through Shyamoli, Bijoy Sarani, Rokeya Sarani, Mirpur-10, Kachukhet, and Shewrapara before returning to his Gulshan residence around the time of Maghrib prayers after touring the roads for about two and a half hours.

Commitment to Cleanliness

PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony stated that the Prime Minister has repeatedly emphasized his desire to see Dhaka as a clean city. This personal tour underscores his commitment to ensuring that the cleanliness standards are met across the capital. The inspection aimed to assess the current state of cleanliness and identify areas needing improvement.

Accompanied by Key Officials

During the inspection, the Prime Minister was accompanied by State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, DNCC Administrator Md. Safiqul Islam Khan Milton, BNP Special Secretary Belayet Hossain, PM’s Private Secretary Md. Mehedul Islam, and Assistant Private Secretary Abdur Rahman Suny. Their presence highlights the importance of this initiative and the collaborative effort required to achieve a cleaner Dhaka.
