Speaking as the chief guest at an exchange of views meeting organized to celebrate the 'Prime Minister's Gold Cup National Football Tournament 2026,' Alam highlighted the government's commitment to sports as a cornerstone of national development.
The tournament, more than just a football competition, represents a nationwide effort to discover and nurture footballing talents from the grassroots level. Alam stressed the importance of providing students across both urban and rural areas with the opportunity to develop their sporting abilities. He noted that the government, under the Prime Minister's guidance, has been dedicated to creating a conducive sporting environment in every upazila, preserving playgrounds, and expanding sports activities to steer young people away from drugs and crime.
Mir Shahe Alam called for the cooperation of educational institutions, teachers, guardians, and all stakeholders to ensure the success of the upcoming Prime Minister's Gold Cup National Football Tournament.
