Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has initiated the 'Community Bank Clean Dhaka Project' to promote a cleaner and greener Dhaka. As part of this initiative, cleanliness and tree plantation programmes were held at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College and Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College. The events, themed 'Amar Shahor, Amar Desh-- Poricchonnotay Bodle Zabe Bangladesh', saw the participation of around 500 students, teachers, bank officials, and employees.
Engaging the Younger Generation
The programmes included cleanliness drives on the campuses and surrounding areas, along with the planting of saplings of various species. Notable attendees included Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Abdus Salam, Inspector General of Police and Chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, and Managing Director of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin. These leaders emphasized the importance of involving young people in environmental conservation and cleanliness efforts.
Inspector General of Police Md. Ali Hossain Fakir highlighted the necessity of integrating cleanliness and greenery into personal and social behaviours. He stressed that planting and caring for trees is crucial for environmental balance and ensuring clean air and shade for future generations. Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Abdus Salam echoed these sentiments, urging the younger generation to participate in social activities and avoid drugs.
Commitment to Social Responsibility
DMP Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed called for collective efforts to build a clean Dhaka, emphasizing the role of young people in such initiatives. Community Bank Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin encouraged individuals to initiate positive change starting with themselves, asserting that societal change begins with personal transformation.
As part of the Clean Dhaka Project, 20 dustbins, 20 shovels, and 20 brooms were provided to each institution. Additionally, twelve fruit-bearing, timber, medicinal, and flowering trees were planted at each location. Community Bank expressed its commitment to continuing such initiatives as part of its social responsibility efforts, aiming to foster environmental conservation, public awareness, and positive social change.
