Committee Composition and Function
The committee comprises the Home Minister as the chairperson, along with the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, and the Minister for Housing and Public Works. The committee has the authority to co-opt additional members if needed and will hold meetings as required. Secretarial support will be provided by the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.
Process and Next Steps
The proposed amendments, based on the committee's recommendations, will be presented to the Cabinet for final approval. This initiative aims to ensure that Dhaka's building laws are contemporary and effective in addressing modern urban development challenges.
