Narsingdi-1 lawmaker and BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon has called for unity to ensure the proper implementation of the government's public welfare and development programmes with justice, principles and honesty. He made the call while speaking at a tree plantation and sapling distribution programme at Narsingdi Government College. Khokon emphasized that the people are supporting the government and no conspiracy can obstruct its progress.

The event was organized by the district unit of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal as part of a tree plantation initiative announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. It also marked the 82nd birthday of former BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. A total of 2,000 fruit-bearing and forest saplings were distributed among students and marginal farmers.

District Krishak Dal Acting Convener Md Shafiqul Islam presided over the programme, while Krishak Dal President and Agriculturist Hasan Zafir Tuhin attended as a special guest. General Secretary Md Shahidul Islam Babul, MP, spoke as the main discussant. Zila Parishad Administrator Bir Muktijoddha Toffazzal Hossain and other leaders were also present.

Khokon's call for unity reflects the broader political landscape in Bangladesh, where collaborative efforts are often required to ensure the success of government initiatives. The tree plantation programme aligns with the government's environmental goals and highlights the importance of community involvement in sustainable development projects.

The distribution of saplings to students and marginal farmers underscores the government's commitment to inclusive growth and environmental conservation. By involving various stakeholders, including educational institutions and farmers, the programme aims to foster a sense of shared responsibility towards the environment.

The presence of prominent political and administrative figures at the event signifies the importance of such initiatives in the eyes of the government. It also indicates a coordinated effort to promote both environmental sustainability and social welfare through community-based programmes.

For Bangladesh, the successful implementation of government development programmes is crucial for addressing socio-economic challenges and ensuring sustainable growth. Khokon's emphasis on unity and principles highlights the need for collective action and integrity in achieving these goals.
