To improve the mental strength and performance of national hockey players, the Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) organized a special workshop titled 'Train Your Mind' on August 1, 2026. Held at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, the workshop aimed to enhance players' concentration, self-confidence, and ability to manage emotions under pressure. With the belief that mental preparation is crucial in modern hockey, the BHF hopes this initiative will elevate Bangladesh hockey.

What was the purpose of the workshop?

The primary purpose of the workshop was to enhance the players' mental strength, psychological resilience, and overall performance on the field. The workshop focused on improving concentration, building self-confidence, managing emotions, and developing a winning mindset to perform effectively under pressure during competitive matches.

Who conducted the workshop?

The workshop was conducted by a team of experienced freelance consultants and mental health professionals. Arif Siddiqui, a freelance consultant, served as the lead trainer, while Md. Hanif worked as the associate trainer. Jannatul Ferdous, a Clinical Psychologist at Prottay, also provided guidance on the players' mental health and psychological well-being.

What is the significance of this workshop for Bangladesh hockey?

The BHF believes that mental preparation and tactical awareness are just as important as physical fitness in modern hockey. Through this workshop, the federation hopes the players will be better equipped to cope with the psychological pressures of international competitions and deliver improved performances for Bangladesh.

What is the BHF's expectation from this initiative?

Organizers expressed optimism that the initiative would play a significant role in improving the standard of Bangladesh hockey. The workshop was conducted under the slogan 'Not a Dream, This Time History,' indicating the BHF's hope that this mental performance enhancement will lead to historic achievements for the national hockey team.
