Bangladesh has requested French assistance in expanding third language education, with a particular focus on including French as an option. Prime Minister's Adviser and Press Secretary Mahdee Amin highlighted the significance of language education for international opportunities during a courtesy meeting with French Ambassador Jean-Marc Sére Charlé at the Prime Minister's Office. The discussion also covered economic, trade, and technological cooperation, as well as enhancing mutual communication between the two nations.
The meeting addressed various bilateral issues, including education, investment, trade, technology, and people-to-people contact. Special emphasis was placed on the Prime Minister's initiative to make third language education compulsory, with French being considered as a viable option. The conversation also touched on strengthening economic and commercial ties between Bangladesh and France.
Mahdee Amin underscored the investment-friendly budget and business-friendly policies of the Bangladeshi government, urging French investors to take advantage of increased investment opportunities in Bangladesh. The discussion further explored enhancing cooperation in higher education and research, technological development, university linkages, increasing scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students in France, and strengthening mutual communication between the two countries. Both sides stressed the importance of education, culture, technology, and economic cooperation in elevating Bangladesh-France relations to new heights.
