Five more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 1,069 children were reported infected with confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms. Since March 15, a total of 698 children have died with measles symptoms, and 95 have died after being confirmed with measles, bringing the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms to 793. In the past 24 hours, 147 children were confirmed infected with measles, while 922 were suffering from measles-like symptoms. No confirmed measles death was recorded during this period. Since March 15, a total of 101,026 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide, of which 97,532 have recovered and been discharged.

The ongoing measles outbreak in Bangladesh has raised significant public health concerns. The DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely and has been providing updates on the number of infections and deaths. Efforts are being made to increase vaccination rates and provide medical care to affected children. The recent increase in deaths with measles symptoms underscores the need for continued vigilance and action to control the spread of the disease.
