State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury has highlighted the government's unwavering focus on improving the quality of education in Nandail upazila. Speaking at a views-exchange meeting with teachers at Government Shahid Smriti Adarsha College, he underscored that the education sector is receiving the highest priority in Nandail's development agenda.
Government's Commitment to Education
The state minister articulated the government's vision to make Nandail globally recognized. He urged everyone to support the Prime Minister's policy 'Bangladesh First' to achieve this goal. Despite the current government being in office for less than five months, significant steps have already been taken to enhance educational infrastructure in Nandail.
Allocation of Funds for Educational Institutions
Through the efforts of the State Minister, the Education Engineering Department has allocated Taka 90 lakh for the repair and renovation of six educational institutions in Nandail. This allocation, approved under the 2025–26 fiscal year's operational budget, will support repair and renovation work at four institutions under the Secondary and Higher Education Division and two institutions under the Technical and Madrasa Education Division.
Under the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Taka 15 lakh has been allocated to each of Kharua High School, Deuldangra Bhuiyabari Academy, Mushuli College, and Singdoi Adarsha High School. Additionally, under the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Taka 15 lakh has been allocated to each of Mahabai Women's Dakhil Madrasah and Rajapur Girls' Dakhil Madrasah.
Future Plans for Educational Enhancement
The state minister announced several upcoming initiatives aimed at further improving the educational environment in Nandail. These include the introduction of honours courses, construction of a new academic building, and establishment of a modern computer laboratory at Government Shahid Smriti Adarsha College. He also assured the construction of a boundary wall for student and teacher safety, a guide wall along the riverbank, renovation of the Shaheed Minar and the college mosque, a separate rest room for female teachers, and the construction of a modern auditorium.
