The orientation and opening classes for first-year students enrolled in the BDS course for the 2025-2026 academic year will begin on June 8. A three-day program will be organized across 34 public and private dental colleges and dental units in the country. This information was announced in a notification by the Directorate of Health Education on Thursday.
According to the notification from the Directorate of Health Education, a central orientation event will be held on June 8 at 9 AM, jointly organized by the Health Education and Family Welfare Division, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Directorate of Health Education. The Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sardar Mo. Sakhawat Hossain, will inaugurate the event online.
Day-by-Day Schedule
Day 1: On the first day of the orientation, each student will be encouraged to plant a tree under the 'One Student, One Tree' initiative to promote environmental conservation and social responsibility among students.
Day 2: On June 9, new students will be given the opportunity to tour various departments, laboratories, clinical facilities, and academic infrastructure of the college. They will also receive detailed information about the BDS course curriculum, academic program, evaluation methods, and professional preparation.
Day 3: On June 10, motivational lectures will be organized to raise awareness about mental health and inspire students in medical education. Sessions led by teachers will cover topics such as professional life, ethics, responsibility, and personal development.
