Four more ready-made garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh have achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, further strengthening the country's global leadership in sustainable apparel manufacturing. With these latest additions, Bangladesh now has 290 LEED-certified RMG factories, including 125 Platinum-rated and 145 Gold-rated facilities.

The newly certified factories are Canvas Garments Pvt. Ltd. and Matrix Sweaters Ltd., both receiving Platinum certification, Karim Textiles Limited with Gold certification, and Karim Tex Limited with Silver certification. Canvas Garments Pvt. Ltd., located in Chattogram, secured 90 points under the LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1 rating system, while Matrix Sweaters Ltd. in Gazipur earned 88 points under the same rating system.

Karim Textiles Limited, located in Kaliakoir, Gazipur, received Gold certification with 73 points under LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4.1, and Karim Tex Limited in Dhamrai, Dhaka, achieved Silver certification with 53 points under LEED O+M: Existing Buildings v4. Bangladesh also continues to dominate the global rankings for green garment factories, with 53 of the world's top 100 highest-scoring LEED-certified factories located in the country.

The achievement of LEED certification by these factories underscores Bangladesh's commitment to sustainable practices in the RMG sector. The country's growing number of LEED-certified facilities highlights its leading role in promoting environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.
