A Narayanganj court has sentenced a man to death for the murder of his wife in 2022, following a lengthy legal process.

In Narayanganj, a court sentenced Moktar Ali to death for killing his wife, Fatema Akhter Rekha, in 2022. The court also imposed a fine of Taka 20,000 on Moktar Ali. The incident, which took place in Fatulla under Sadar upazila, stemmed from a dispute over suspected extramarital affairs. Following the stabbing, the victim's mother filed a murder case, leading to Moktar Ali's arrest and confession.

The verdict was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Nibhana Khair Jesy in the presence of the accused. The court took into account the testimony of 13 witnesses during its deliberation. Court Police Inspector Abdus Samad confirmed the verdict, emphasizing the thorough legal process.
