In an effort to maintain law and order, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) launched a special operation in the Jatrabari Police Station area, leading to the arrest of 20 people. These individuals were apprehended on suspicion of involvement in a range of criminal activities, according to a press release from the DMP.

Details of the Arrests

The detainees include suspects who were wanted in regular criminal cases, as well as individuals allegedly involved in other offenses. Among those arrested were Amit Karmakar, Rubel alias Habibur Rahman (42), Md Sani (27), Md Zakir Hossain (30), and several others with ages ranging from 19 to 50 years old. The operation was aimed at addressing a variety of criminal activities prevalent in the area.

Continuation of Special Drives

The DMP has emphasized that such special drives will continue to be a part of their strategy to maintain law and order in the Jatrabari area. These operations are seen as a proactive measure to deter crime and ensure the safety of the community.

The arrests were part of a broader effort by the DMP to combat crime in Dhaka, with a focus on high-crime areas like Jatrabari. The police force aims to create a safer environment for residents by targeting individuals involved in illegal activities.

Community safety and crime prevention are key priorities for the DMP, and the recent arrests are a testament to their ongoing commitment to these goals. The police force encourages community members to report suspicious activities and cooperate with law enforcement efforts.
