In a significant move, the Natore district administration successfully reclaimed 1.37 acres of government land in the South Choukier Par area, adjacent to a Homeopathic College, after it had been illegally occupied for 35 years. The recovered land, estimated to be worth around Tk 14 crore, was seized from a local resident named Mohsin Ali. The eviction and recovery operation was overseen by Natore Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Azahar Ali and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Farhad Hossain on Monday afternoon.
Details of the Recovery Operation
The recovered land, previously recorded under government-owned No. 1 khas khatian, had turned into a pond over time. The Assistant Commissioner (Land) stated that the land will be reclassified and subsequently leased out by the government following official procedures. The administration placed red markers around the reclaimed property and installed signboards declaring the ownership of the district administration.
