On Monday afternoon, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajshahi Range Ashiq Sayeed convened a crucial meeting with representatives from the Bus-Truck Owners Association across various districts under the Range. The session, held at the Padma conference room in the Range DIG Office, focused on tackling a range of transport-related issues affecting highways.
The primary concern during the discussion was the problems faced by transport owners on highways, ensuring smooth transportation of passengers and goods, and enhancing road safety. Bus-truck owners presented their grievances, while the DIG committed to implementing effective solutions.
DIG Sayeed emphasized the need for stringent measures to curb the operation of unfit vehicles, reckless driving, and the overloading of passengers or goods, all of which contribute to road accidents. He urged officials to remain vigilant and take necessary actions to prevent such incidents.
In addition, the DIG highlighted the importance of strict compliance with traffic laws and encouraged safe and responsible driving among transport owners. The meeting also featured the presence of the Additional DIG (Crime Management), Superintendents of Police, and other senior officials from the Range Office.
