Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 432 individuals in a 24-hour anti-crime operation across the capital. The operation, part of DMP's ongoing efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order, resulted in the filing of 54 cases. The arrested individuals were accused of various offenses, including narcotics, locally made weapons, and other criminal activities.
Breakdown of Arrests by Division
The arrests were spread across different divisions of Dhaka. Ramna Division saw 50 arrests, Lalbagh 33, Wari 59, Motijheel 49, Tejgaon 49, Mirpur 107, Gulshan 45, and Uttara 37. Additionally, the Detective Branch (DB) arrested three individuals.
Seized Items and Legal Actions
During the operation, police recovered 16.54 kilograms of cannabis, 446 yaba tablets, 32 grams of heroin, a motorcycle, a shooter machine, a wood-cutting machine, a grinding machine, and a stand fan from the possession of the accused. Legal action against the arrestees is currently underway.
