ISTANBUL - Ozgur Ozel, Turkey's ousted opposition leader, has announced plans to form a new political party following his controversial removal from the Republican People's Party (CHP). In a farewell address to lawmakers, Ozel stated that the new party aims to become the main opposition force in the Grand National Assembly. The decision comes after a court ruling in May annulled the CHP's leadership election, reinstating Ozel's predecessor, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
