A fire erupted at St Basil's Cathedral, the historic and iconic church located in Moscow's Red Square, but was quickly brought under control, according to operational services. The cause of the blaze remains undisclosed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
The fire, which broke out on the first floor in the director's office, engulfed personal belongings and furniture, covering an area of approximately 10 square meters. Around 10 fire engines were deployed to the scene to tackle the fire.
Operational services later confirmed that the fire had been successfully extinguished. St Basil's Cathedral, renowned for its multicolored domes, is a significant cultural and historical landmark in Moscow.
