The Rangamati district administration has officially reopened Sajek Valley and all other tourist destinations in the district, nine days after they were closed due to continuous heavy rainfall. The closure was a result of landslides, increased accident risks in hilly areas, and disrupted transportation. With the situation now returning to normal, visitors are once again welcome to explore these attractions. Travellers are urged to exercise caution during the ongoing monsoon season and strictly follow all instructions and advisories issued by the district administration. On July 7, the district administration had temporarily closed the Sajek Valley Tourist Centre in Baghaichhari Upazila due to persistent heavy rainfall, which triggered landslides and disrupted transportation in several areas.

Reopening Announcement

The decision to reopen was announced in a public notice signed by the district administration. The notice emphasized the need for travellers to remain cautious during the monsoon season and adhere to all guidelines provided by the authorities.

Previous Closure

Sajek Valley and other tourist spots were closed on July 7 following weather forecasts and the persistent heavy rainfall in Rangamati Hill District. The closure was necessary to ensure the safety of visitors and locals alike, as the heavy rains had caused significant landslides and transportation disruptions.
