Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has assured that the government is committed to ensuring that taxpayers' money is spent solely for the welfare of the people. He emphasized the government's dedication to the proper and transparent use of public funds, stating that this commitment is being fulfilled through various initiatives.
Speaking at a function in Magura District Auditorium, organized by the Magura Zila Parishad, Minister Asaduzzaman highlighted the government's relentless efforts to ensure that the benefits of development reach every corner of the country. "The government has been working relentlessly to ensure the proper and transparent use of public funds so that the benefits of development reach people in every corner of the country," he said.
During the event, bicycles were distributed among students, sewing machines among rural women, and saplings among beneficiaries. The minister noted that in the past, a significant portion of funds allocated for public welfare remained unspent due to corruption and irregularities. He praised the current government for breaking away from this culture by ensuring accountability and pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
Asaduzzaman further mentioned that investigations are underway into funds allegedly misappropriated in the name of development projects in the past, and legal action is being taken against those responsible. He also spoke about the government's initiatives to implement the Family Card, Agriculture Card, and Imam Card programmes, aiming to provide financial assistance to women and support for farmers.
The function was chaired by Magura Zila Parishad Administrator Ali Ahmmed, with Magura Sadar lawmaker Md Monowar Hossain Khan, Deputy Commissioner Motakabbir Ahmed, and others in attendance. A total of 182 beneficiaries received assistance under the programme. Earlier, the law minister addressed a programme organized by the Magura District Bar Association as the chief guest.
