In a recent meeting, Ismail Zabihullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Public Administration, urged officials to expedite the implementation of the BNP's election manifesto. Speaking as the chief guest at a meeting to review the progress of the 180-day action plan, Zabihullah stressed the importance of minimizing bureaucratic delays through enhanced personal communication and improved coordination between institutions.

Zabihullah highlighted the Ministry of Public Administration's efforts to establish a merit-based system, recruit five lakh government employees transparently, and create a more accountable administration. As part of these efforts, the ministry is piloting an online system for pension applications and administrative approvals, with a retired additional secretary's pension being the first to be processed online.

The adviser also announced plans to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology into the Government Employee Management System (GEMS) for more efficient online transfers and postings. This move aims to increase transparency and speed up administrative procedures. Additionally, he directed authorities to meet the target of filling all vacant positions within the stipulated 180 days.

The meeting, chaired by Senior Secretary Ehsanul Hoque, included heads of subordinate departments, senior officials, and divisional commissioners, who participated through an online platform. The swift and effective implementation of these initiatives is crucial for enhancing public administration in Bangladesh and ensuring that the government's promises are fulfilled in a timely manner.

This initiative underscores the government's commitment to improving public services and governance, which is essential for the nation's development and stability.
