Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman today visited Neela Market in Purbachal New Town as part of the central bank's Bangla QR campaign aimed at promoting digital payments across the country. The governor, accompanied by senior officials of Bangladesh Bank and representatives of banks and payment service providers, toured various shops and engaged with traders and customers. He underscored the benefits of Bangla QR-based transactions and encouraged the use of the platform for its security, speed, and convenience. To illustrate the ease of the system, the governor made purchases using Bangla QR. He expressed hope that this initiative would boost awareness and adoption of Bangla QR among consumers and merchants. Bangladesh Bank has been running the Bangla QR campaign to expand cashless transactions and strengthen the country's digital payment ecosystem.

The Bangla QR campaign is a significant step towards modernizing Bangladesh's payment systems. By promoting digital transactions, the central bank aims to reduce reliance on cash, enhance transaction security, and improve the efficiency of everyday purchases. The campaign also seeks to increase financial inclusion by making digital payments accessible to a broader segment of the population.
