Two children were tragically killed in separate landslides in the Jangal Salimpur and Chashma Pahar areas of Sitakunda upazila today. The incidents occurred in the morning and early afternoon, causing immense grief to the local community.

In the Jangal Salimpur area, a 10-month-old boy named Ashraful Islam Tanvir, son of Mainuddin, was killed instantly when a landslide struck their house at the foot of a hill. The incident happened in the morning, catching the family off guard.

Meanwhile, in the Chashma Pahar area under Panchlaish Police Station, a 12-year-old girl named Sumaiya, daughter of Faruk Hossain, died after being trapped in a landslide around 1:30 pm. Rescue efforts were launched immediately, but unfortunately, she could not be saved.
